22 weeks

How far along? 22 weeks

Due Date: August 2, 2011

Total weight gain/loss: 7 pounds (I LOST a pound this week!!!  Woo hoo!!!)

Maternity clothes? Yep, mostly everything except a few comfy pants, sweatshirts and longer shirts still work.

Stretch Marks? Nada

Sleep: I'm still waking up several times a night to change positions, and of course there are the 1-3 bathroom trips every night.  I guess I'll probably just never sleep the same.  Maybe this is getting me ready for how motherhood will be.

Best moment this week: Watching my belly move yesterday for about 45 min straight every time Baby Girl kicked me!  It was so awesome!

Movement: Oh yes!  She's a wiggler/kicker!  And Matt finally got to feel her move the other day.  He thought it felt pretty wierd.  You should see what it feels like from the INSIDE, honey.  :)

Food cravings: Noodles....of any kind, really.

Food aversions: CHICKEN!  (Will I ever look at you the same?)

Gender: Girl (at least I hope she still is or I'm gonna have to start returning some things)

Labor Signs: I've started contracting some in the last week.  I've been crampy throughout most of my pregnancy, but my uterus never gets hard when I'm crampy.  Starting about a week ago, I started feeling something I'd never felt before and I wasn't sure if Baby Girl was just moving differently or what so I put my hand on my lower belly and sure enough it was hard as a rock.  It stayed that way for a minute or 2 and then released.  I've felt these "Braxton Hicks" type tightenings several times in the last week, but they're definitely nothing painful and I've not had any spotting, so I'm just trying to go with the flow and not freak too much.  I talked with one of the doctors in my group on Sunday while I was at work and he wasn't too concerned as long as they were random and not several within the same hour.  I have an appointment next Monday, so I'll definitely bring it up then.

Belly Button in or out? Innie, although it's getting a lot more shallow and I'm wondering if it will eventually get flat.

What I miss: Sleeping soundly through the night and having a drink with friends after work.

What I am looking forward to: Only 2 more weeks til viability!!!!!

Milestones: At 11 inches (the length of a spaghetti squash) and almost 1 pound, your baby is starting to look like a miniature newborn. Her lips, eyelids, and eyebrows are becoming more distinct, and she's even developing tiny tooth buds beneath his gums. Her eyes have formed, but her irises (the colored part of the eye) still lack pigment. If you could see inside your womb, you'd be able to spot the fine hair (lanugo) that covers his body and the deep wrinkles on his skin, which she'll sport until he adds a padding of fat to fill them in. Inside her belly, her pancreas — essential for the production of some important hormones — is developing steadily.
